CMake doesn't support it.

It's not a good idea in most circumstances.  Because you will get, eg, persistent hidden vulnerabilities on Heartbleed, even if you installed new OpenSSL libs on your system with it fixed.

If you must do it, you can either edit CMakeLists.txt to support it, or mess with the makefile to link the OpenSSL .a rather than -lopenssl
