 In unix, processes inherit restrictions set by ulimit, so individual
 processes can be restricted from fork bombing or allocating your machine
 to death.  By default it's 1024 on some distros, but you can change it in
 the parent process using ulmit -n <max open files> and the child processes
 will inherit that situation.

 If you want to send a patch adapting the windows platform stuff to get
 around it, I'll be happy to look at it.
